Monthly Fans is a platform for promoting artists on Spotify. The idea is straightforward — a community of fans who support artists with monthly playlist submissions — but building it was anything but. The project required a full e-commerce system, personal user accounts, subscription management, and an interface that felt as premium as the music it was built around.
We built the entire platform from scratch: visual identity, custom graphics and SVG illustrations, UI design, and all the technical infrastructure. Users can subscribe monthly to support artists or make a one-time purchase. Each account gives subscribers full control — upgrade, cancel, or add more artists at any time.
All animations on the platform were built from scratch using custom JavaScript. The motion wasn't decorative — it was part of the product experience, making the platform feel alive and worth paying for. SVG graphics were used throughout to keep visual quality high without any performance penalty.
The build also included a Spotify integration layer so the platform could deliver on its core promise: real playlist submissions to real curators.
Monthly Fans launched with a working product and attracted active subscribers within weeks. The platform has grown its artist base steadily since launch — the combination of a clear value proposition and a polished product experience drove word-of-mouth growth within the indie music community.
